Day 2 of Shooting

Our second day of shooting was actually our first day for filming the new plot. Me, Maylynn, Jason, and Jaden met up at our local park and filmed the playground scenes of the movie opener. Though the opener starts out at Hailey’s house, with our scheduling and overall consensus that the playground scenes are easier to film, we decided to record out of order. First of all, compared to the first day we recorded for the previous plot, we met up from 5-7 pm. However we didn’t have the privilege to record that late as these shots have to be recorded in the morning because it’s a playground park scene and kids typically play in the morning. So we all had to drive to the playground right after school and we were there from around 3:30-5 pm. When arriving there we faced issues right off the start. To record we had to make sure no other kids got in the way of filming because they were obviously much younger than the actor and were actual kids and they were also loud. We couldn’t tell them to leave because they were out with their family but time was ticking as the sun would go down soon. But surely, they ended up leaving and we were quick to start recording.

We filmed several scenes, some that were parallel to what we had in mind and what our plot contained verbatim. Moreover, we recorded a bunch of extra shots that could be used or added on later if we wanted to. We recorded Hailey walking by the road towards the playground which was by a fountain near the bridge. Next we took several shots of her sitting by the edge of the bridge. Then Hailey walked to the gate and opened the latch and we see a close up of that. We recorded her playing with her dolls and walking underneath the bridge. At the end we recorded her walking to the swings where you can see a figure far away in the background. We see her swinging on the swings when the masked man comes and grabs her indicating how she got kidnapped. At the end we were able to get much of the shots done creatively so it was very successful that we got this done on a limited time where 1. we had to wait for the rest of the kids and parents to leave and 2. where the shots would be compromised if the sun went too down.
