Costuming

     

       As the filming dates approach it was essential to ensure that we have an idea on what our characters attire should look like. Costuming is important as it will reflect the characters personality and inner feelings. It will help the audience better understand their inner thoughts and relate to them more. For Jason and Jaden’s clothing we will have to go through their wardrobes and decide the clothing. Going through with the story, Jaden will likely wear more brighter clothes, something more formal. For instance, a sweater or button down shirt and some dress pants. This is because he is the older, and more put together brother in our story. Jason, on the other hand, will have an opposite wardrobe to Jaden to reflect his inner turmoil and mental state. So we will probably see Jason wearing less formal clothing such as pants/jeans and a shirt that is all black. Also, in the final scene we see a masked individual who will have his mask on as well as a scary outfit to go along with his persona and create an eery ambiance when the viewers see him. He will be wearing a uncanny face mask. 

         Having Jason wear the black will show how he is in a rebellious state of mind and that he is angsty. The viewers can expect him to do something unexpected or lash out. Jaden will look more respectable and responsible, someone the viewers may seem as if they are reliable and a trustworthy character in the film opening. The masked guy should be evoking horrid feelings and should not be someone who one would trust. He is there to induce fear as well as a sense of mystery within the audience.
