Group Dynamics

Our group has been very active and efficient in making sure that we all have a project that we will be proud of submitting to.  Throughout the process all of our roles have changed and adapted to what better accustoms us and what each person is capable of doing to contribute to the final project. I think we all have clear communication with each other which definitely helps as we only have around a week before the project is due but i’m confident and not stressed because we already have much completed and are in the final stages of editing and finalizing. Making it this far is solely due to the hard work that each member has put into and you can tell how much effort everyone has put in, with multiple filming dates and more. After being in this group i have learned a lot more about my friends in my group and I think we’ve all grown closer which helped with our dynamics. Everyone has carried their weight with as much as they can do and everyone has their own aspect they left a mark on in the movie opener which I believe gave our project ingenuity and creativity. As each person brought on their own unique experience and style.

As for me, at the beginning I was supposed to be the cameraman but with issues with getting a camera, we had to borrow our friend Logan’s camera who is instead our camera person as he has far superior film skills and his knowledge of using the camera outweighs us all. Therefore, my role naturally adapted to the situation to cater to my group and I become involved in much of the behind the scenes activities. Furthermore, many times the filming dates don’t line up with my schedule so I took on a role that doesn’t require me to delay the rest of the group which I would feel guilty about. Where I do all the foleys (upcoming blog soon) at my own time. Then, Maylynn has definitely been the leader of our group. She is extremely intelligent about filmmaking and her thought process i comes naturally which definitely helped us. She is the main actor of our movie opener and she also helps here and there with Jaden on editing. Jaden has been very helpful in directing shots and making creative calls on how a specific shot should portray and how to move forward. He has a short scene of being the dad and he will be involved in editing too. Jason has also been very helpful and is a character who comes up at the end of the movie opener to do a eerie scary scene and they also did one of the filming shoots at his house which was kind on his behalf. All in all, our group dynamics worked out perfectly at the end despite all the doubts and concerns we’ve faced in the beginning as well as some rough patches we’ve faced before changing our plot where our future as a group was uncertain.
