Final Project Story Board

In our collective storyboard, it starts off in a dark alley with low key lighting. The camera shows an establishing shot and proceeds to have a guy putting up a missing person poster. There is a close up shot of a particular poster here. We show a figure or dark silhouette in the background. Then the character turns around to inspect the area but sees nothing there. The next scene is a a cut to white kettle with a smash cut of pills falling to the ground and you can hear two people arguing in the background. The next scene will all be a flashback. To show this scene will have white filtering, hence all these shots having white streaks. We see the two brothers fighting with each other in a two shot and then a dutch angle shot of them fighting as well. To heighten the argument one of the brothers starts throwing things and it starts a series of jump cuts of him packing his things to leave. His brother tries to stop him but he leaves anyways. Then we see the door slamming shut with the brother saying to stop controlling him. With this, we are back in the present with one of the characters outside the house and walking back into the house, kind’ve like a match cut with the previous flashback. He pulls out his phone and calls a friend. We see crosscuts of this phone call happening with the brother saying how he is worried about his siblings whereabouts and asking if there is any news on him. The friend doesn’t know anything and just says he’ll let him know if he does. Now we see a sudden cut to the dark and eery forest with a guy in a mask and a dead body next to him. This will be filmed on a camcorder where the masked guy comes up to the camera and shuts off the camera. The opening ends with a black screen with static noise playing to create a chilling and daunting ambiance left with the viewers.

In our storyboard, we all collaborated together and worked together to create our story frame by frame. Mostly to get a more finalized narrative of what our story will be because we just had a collective idea of some main points. But here we were able to gather more details such as the call between the brother and the friend. Maylynn did shots of 1-7 of the dark street and the brother putting up a poster. I did shots 8-14 of the flashback of the two brothers arguing and one of them ultimately deciding to go away. Jason did shots 15-21 of the flashback ending and going into the present where we see one of the characters going back into the house. Finally, Jaden did shots 22-27 of the crosscuts of the call and the ending of the creepy masked guy in the forest and the black static shot. Making this storyboard was a collaborative effort as we all were apart of the process and worked on time and put in the work to do our part.
