Classmate Critique

I left my critique on Indirah Bonnick's and Ryan Cuadrado's camera shot and angle blogs. As for Indirah's shots, she evoked tranquil and peaceful emotions throughout her videos, In her high-angle shot she was able to display beautiful scenery and was successfully able to create a harmonious ambiance as there were trees, different types of vegetation, and butterflies surrounding the environment in the film. Her close-up shot that focused on her eyes only emphasized the relaxed mood of the shot as she was calm and collected, and this was all perceived and portrayed through her eyes only. Overall her shots were well put together/recorded and had pretty landscapes.

For Ryan Cuadrado's shots, through an establishing shot, he recorded the school's garden grounds which was able to capture and evoke a sense of what an ordinary day at school was like, it had students in the background talking and walking around and also had a pretty view of the school garden. His other shot was a dolly shot which helped differ between a dolly shot and a following shot. The camerawork on this shot was perfectly done as it was fluid and moved along with him walking and as he walked relatively fast with the camera following his fast speed, it created a sense of haste that the viewer could detect through the recording. In the final analysis, they both were able to make great use of these shots to be able to portray emotion to the viewers and they were both creative in their choice of how to use each type of shot.
